Millard Towers is proud to announce that our first 50 foot (15 meter) ICAO glide path tower has been successfully installed in Hanoi, Vietnam.  The tower was designed to meet very stringent deflection criteria due to the sensitive nature of the antenna being installed.  In this tower design, frangibility wasn’t the only concern when it came to designing the tower, meeting the deflection requirements was critical to the safe guidance of aircraft.

The tower is made 100% from lightweight aluminum alloy which makes it very easy for transport and installation.  Our glide path towers come in heights of 30, 40 and 50 foot to satisfy any height requirement.  For more information, please view our glide path tower page.

Millard Towers 25ft Frangible ILS Localizer Antenna Towers has recently been installed at the US Air Force base in Fort Knox, KY.  It is one of two frangible ILS tower installations that Millard has been a part of this year.  The towers replaced a tall rigid structure which held the previous ILS antenna array at the 25 foot height, but was not frangible and needed to be replaced.

The 25 foot towers maintained the strict deflection requirements needed for the ILS antenna to safely guide aircraft, while maintaining full frangibility over the 25 foot height.  This was a great improvement over the existing rigid support structure from a safety standpoint.  Millard Towers can offer ILS support towers in an array of heights.  For more information, please visit out ILS tower page.

Millard Towers has just announced that we have received our full FAA certification from Intertek as an approved supplier for FAA LIR Structures MG-20, MG-30, MG-40 & MS-20 which carry the designation L-891 & L-892 Structures.  After passing all the necessary testing and inspections, Millard Towers was awarded full approval by the FAA and is now listed under FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5345-53 as an approved supplier and are also By-American compliant.

Millard Towers attended the Inter-Airport Europe 2009 show this year in Munich, Germany.  The event which went on from October 6th through October 9th, hosted over 12,000 trade visitors from 120 countries from around the world within the airport industry.

Inter-Airport is one of the largest trade shows within the airport industry and it was a great opportunity to showcase Millard’s products on the worlds stage.  Millard towers were one of 543 exhibitors displaying innovative products and it was our first year attending this even which was a great success.  Millard Towers would like to thank all visitors from the Inter-Airport Europe 2009 show in Munich, Germany for coming to meet us at our booth.

The Canadian Airports Electrical Association hosted CANEW 2009 in Winnipeg, Manitoba this year.  CANEW, Canadian Airports National Electrical Workshop, is held on the last week of September every year in a Canadian city and gathers members of the airport industry, predominantly in the electrical field, to discuss the latest topics relating to their field.

This event is designed to exchange ideas, experiences and technical expertise to solve problems and promote new technologies surrounding the development, maintenance and operation of airports and their infrastructure.

Later in the week, the event opens the doors to its trade show for the exhibitors to promote their products and technologies to help improve the quality, safety and service levels of airports.
