Manufacturing
Millard’s manufacturing capabilities are the direct beneficiary of sound engineering practices and technological investment. Continual improvement has been a key contributor to the longevity and success of the company.
Millard tower sections, parts, and accessories are made from high-grade Aluminum alloy - the same materials used to build spacecraft and marine vessels. All hardware is made from at least grade 5 steel and manufactured per ASTM standards. It is also treated to enhance corrosion resistant properties. To further improve the resilience of an already robust design, Millard powdercoats its aviation designs to AAMA 2603 standards. The coating has a typical lifespan of 30 years and provides additional UV and saltwater protection.
Modelling
Computer modelling is used to confirm that components fit and function properly prior to fabrication.
Accuracy
Parts are fabricated directly from computer models using CNC machining and water-jet cutting. The resulting part is near-identical to the model.
Consistency
Continual upgrades to Millard’s manufacturing equipment allow tower sections to be fabricated consistently to strict design tolerances.
Durability
Only high-end materials are used in production to ensure towers last longer than the equipment with which they support.
Quality Control
As a final check, components are assembled as much as possible prior to shipping to ensure the parts fit together and function as planned.
