Installation-Spotlight.jpg

Located in Nassau, the capital city of the Bahamas, Lynden Pindling Airport recently underwent a runway upgrade by adding an ODALS approach to Runway 10 and an abbreviated SSALR approach to Runway 14. The airport is the largest of the country's sixty-one and handles 3.2 million passengers per year (2014). The lighting upgrade further establishes the airport as the primary gateway into the Bahamas.

Millard Towers was chosen as the supplier of frangible approach lighting towers because of their ability to withstand the local environmental conditions. Located within a kilometer of the ocean in a tropical climate, Millard's Aluminum construction is well-suited to withstand high UV and saltwater exposure. The location is also subject to high winds, particularly during hurricane season. The approach light towers were designed to survive wind speeds up to 240 km/h (2.87 kPa).
