Multipurpose and Custom

Given the unique properties of Millard’s modular system, towers can be configured in a variety of ways to support unique applications and one-of-a-kind projects.

T Series - Triangular sections for lightly loaded frangible applications.

S Series - Square sections for medium loaded frangible applications.

Tri-Leg Series - Three frangible, triangular sections are arranged to support a top-mounted platform or side-mounted equipment. Intended for heavy duty applications.

Quad-Leg Series - Four frangible, square sections are arranged to support a top mounted platform. Our most robust design.

M Series - Aluminum lattice design intended for non-frangible applications.

Tiltable Steel Pole - For non-frangible applications ranging in height from 6m to 15m.

  • Antennas / Communications / Point-to-Point

  • Beacons

  • Cameras - Security

  • Cameras - Remote ATC

  • Floodlighting

  • Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Detection Systems

  • Multilateration (MLAT)

  • Off-Grid Power - Solar, Wind

  • WiFi

The T Series comprises frangible triangular sections that are built up to form Regular and Heavy Duty configurations. The design is based on ALS Single Lamp towers so typically handles lighter loads where deflection is not critical (i.e. security cameras, small antennas, small wind turbine). Towers can be equipped with a Tilt Base and an Elevated Hinge to accommodate installation and servicing.

The S Series comprises frangible square sections that are built up to form Regular and Heavy Duty configurations. The design is based on ALS Single Mast Lightbar towers so typically handles light loads with stringent deflection criteria (i.e. cameras, small antennas, GPS, MLAT) or heavier loads where deflection is not critical (i.e. beacons, floodlighting, solar panels). Towers can be equipped with a Tilt Base and an Elevated Hinge to accommodate installation and servicing.

The Tri-Leg series comprises frangible triangular sections joined using cross-bracing. The design is based on ILS Glide Path towers so typically handles heavy loads with stringent deflection criteria (i.e. FOD Systems, Remote ATC Cameras). Equipment can be side-mounted or installed on a top-mounted platform. Servicing is performed using an internal ladder and optional platform. Regular and Heavy Duty configurations are available.

The Quad-Leg series comprises frangible square sections joined using cross-bracing. The design is our most robust offering and is intended to handle heavy loads with stringent deflection criteria that the Tri-Leg Series cannot (i.e. FOD Systems and Remote ATC Cameras in high wind/ice environments). Equipment is installed on a top-mounted platform accessible by an internally mounted ladder. Regular and Heavy Duty configurations are available.

Millard’s M Series is engineered to support equipment for a variety of applications - Meteorology, Communication, Security, Lighting, etc. Towers are made from high-grade Aluminum Alloy resistant to UV and saltwater exposure, and the lattice framework makes it suitable for the most extreme environmental conditions with high wind and ice loads.

A modular design, lowering features, and standardized mounts make it easy to ship, install, and service. It is an ideal solution for non-frangible applications around the airport.

Built to AASHTO standards, the Tiltable Steel Pole is fabricated from structural steel and hot-dipped galvanized for increased durability. In addition, the octagonal shape provides minimal resistance to the wind while rigidly supporting airfield equipment. The pole can be left bare or can be painted orange and white per Transport Canada, ICAO, and FAA obstruction marking requirements.

It’s most noticeable feature is the tiltable mechanism. The pole can be lowered and raised using a worm gear winch allowing equipment maintenance to be performed by a single technician. A hand hole at the base also simplifies servicing by granting easy access to electrical connections.

The design is primarily used for Beacons and Floodlighting, but can be used to support other airfield equipment where frangibility is not a concern. Specific Beacon and Floodlight mounts are standard, while custom designs are available.
